I couldn't agree more. What DDIA gives you, most of all, is context - why does replication (or partitioning, or horizontal scaling, or ACID) matter? A must read for any working programmer today.

In most applications, replacing HTTP with WebSockets is a big mistake. HTTP is cachable, can be proxied, inspected via curl and examined in Chrome's devtools. More importantly, typical app communication with the server has request-resp

Agreed, it could work with Keycloak, or other 3rd party libraries, depending on the amount of collaboration between JS and Elm. My point was that some things that are simple when you can pass around promises suddenly get very complicated wh

Can you tail cloudwatch logs in real time, ideally from the command line? For debugging situations, I'd like to send a request to my app server and then see the server response live, or with little delay.

By the way, if you get a chance to see Bondarchuk's 6 hour version of War and Peace , don't miss it. It's epic, beautiful and highly experimental. It's worth seeing just for the aerial shots during the war scenes.

Clojure has a fantastic track record of not breaking existing code. Changing clojure's `#inst` to a different class would probably entail such a backward-incompatible change. There are also still people running Java 1.7.
