VR gaming is a niche. Racing and flight simulators are very good; other software is typically mediocre. But VR games do not work with AR glasses.

That is a perfectly acceptable alternative, but to me it feels it would put a lot of trust in automation and lower affinity with the code as it's not continuously inspected. It depends on the size and duration of the project I guess.

I'm still sad about that. They destroyed one of the best game franchises ever. It was such a disappointment after all the release hype.

Unless you work in a very complex technical domain with high profit margins. A bug in production can literally cost us billions (apart from potential reputation damage), the system is highly complex, so having 2 reviewers isn't a luxur

I strongly disagree with this article. I wouldn't trust myself or my my coworkers to produce perfect code every time. We have 2 reviewers mandatory for each PR and using pull requests is a perfectly acceptable way to ensure quality - e

The graphics in the demo gave me the same vibe as the "Money for Nothing" music video by the Dire Straits. Does anyone know if that video was produced with such a machine?

It should not respond like with "don't talk to me like that". It is a device, not a person, it has no feelings, and it is being used in a private home. No reason to police speech there.

Indeed, this seems more like a propaganda piece than actual research.

Especially this. I had too many times where the road was bumpy and I needed to press a button on the infotainment system. You need to rest your thumb off screen first in order to be able to press the correct button on the touchscreen. It&#x

It's a pretty scary idea that AI could take a religious stance since its training sets contained religious texts, too. Especially in the context you provide.

That sounds eerily similar to living in a prison camp. Everything is taken care of for you and you have a minimal say in how things are run. To prevent incidents a movie is shown in the evening. I'll pass.

I think AI will mostly communicate with other AI. For instance you have an AI assistant whom you task to organize a diner. That assistant will then talk to the assistants of all invitees, the assistant of the venue, the cooks, etcetera, and

I compare it to reading a big stack of comic books and then trying to create your own, painstakingly reproducing the layout, color palettes and character styles. Or listening to (eg) Pink Floyd and then making a song that really matches the

With the current state of AI text processing, checking if the contents of a user submitted text would be approved really shouldn't take months but instead seconds.

In a large enough project, this sometimes results in pull requests covering hundreds of files. While the renaming itself may be a simple task, getting multiple reviews takes a lot of effort and management may have other priorities.

Is that a thing? I don't think taking "performance enhancing drugs" is safe or allowed in my country, and I would definitely report coworkers to HR if I would find out they did. It's not fair to compete against someone l

There are lots of scenarios. - Your data could be sold by China to your insurer. - Or they could buy your insurer and use the information they have on you. - They could use it for some corporate espionage. - Perhaps you or your boss need to

If the technology can be miniaturized and applied directly to a car, it would generate its own fuel. Combined with an electromotor/batteries as a hybrid engine, this could be an extremely efficient way to drive.

I found out long ago that it really is cheaper to replace a color laser printer than the toners in it (printer is approx €150, while a toner set is approx €250). A new printer with toners lasts about 5-8 years as I print very little. So I h
