My personal experience with reselling Google Apps here in Australia is quite different, privacy of data is almost always the first or second question they ask. I also rejoiced at AWS coming to Sydney, but having servers physically located i

I can put it another way - of the 9 offshored projects I've encountered this year it would seem one was a moderate success for the client (think the company was Indonesian). The others range from average through to unmitigated disaster. My

I love potential clients that have gone down the "offshore everything to India" route, whether it be SEO or development. Their experience usually borders on a complete basket case of a project - usually turn out to be a slam dunk sales wise

Have used Duplicity for a couple of years now, works very well although tricky to get it to store data other than in the US-East region. Currently backing up about 8 servers with it, mix of Ubuntu & Amazon Linux.

Their VPS licensing still perplexes me given the movement to VM based infrastructure. "VPS license is a limited edition with the restriction of 2G memory and 500 concurrent connections. VPS license will NOT run on a server with more than 2

What about the precious metals that go into your smartphone? Those same "bunch of scum" generally are responsible for digging that out the ground too. Love an idealist, so unpractical though.

There are a lot of things to like in Azure but performance isn't one of them. Disk IO is so dismal for VM's, we benchmarked against OrionVM and Zettagrid and the difference was about 10 to 1.
