I've worked with react-three-fiber a little bit so maybe I can offer some experience. RTF is not awesome because React is the best, or even a particularly good way to describe 3D objects. It's awesome because if you are already bu

You can do const $ = document.querySelector; $('.elements').style.color = 'red'; Which is only marginally more verbose.

Can you elaborate on what JQuery does for you that you can't do with modern JS features such as fetch and query selectors?

I understand that the people that follow Clean Code religiously are annoying, but the author seems to be doing the same thing in reverse: because some advice is nuanced or doesn't apply all the time then we should stop recommending the

I think zx is a neat project but it's important to clarify that it is not endorsed or attached to Google in any capacity. The Google account on GitHub is open for Google employees to post their pet open source projects, but they are ot

JSX is easily the worst part about writing React apps to me. It tends to get convoluted and hard to read really fast. Seeing someone trying to represent it with LISP syntax I now realize it could be 100x worse. Don't get me wrong, Elix

We are talking pre alpha stages of development here, nothing that depends on this can reasonably expect for the API to not break several times over in the near future. This software is still figuratively on it's day 1 of development. W

Escaping in the $ interpolator is a planned feature. You definitely have a point, but the project was made public 4 days ago and deserves a little bit of slack don't you think?

You can load JQuery into a different global variable if you want. There are cases where you might want to parse a DOM in the context of shell scripts, such as scrapping some web page. Although JQuery wouldn't be the tool I'd perso

Yes, you could use node's streams to implement this. It would be really cool.

Calibre just works and is great, but the user interface needs some work to modernize how it looks and to be less confusing in general. I'd love a fork that follows the Gnome Human Interface guidelines.

Thanks for the link, but I much prefer the article to those American style documentaries, with the scary sound effects and endless repetition to build "suspense". Interview is at the 8:50 mark for those curious.

You can't, really. But no internet forum is immune to astroturfing and lying. Be it Hacker News or Reddit or 4chan. Just use your best judgment and don't take any of it too seriously.

But Ctrl+Y is what I use to scroll up in vim! Ultimately I think all ctrl combinations were taken long before tmux came around, you just set it to the one that annoys you less. Ctrl+a seems to be a popular choice. I personally just leave it

If you want a laugh, duck for the thread where the developers debate how to implement .epub format in Evince before ultimately deciding that Evince doesn't actually need to be able to open the most popular ebook format in the world.

I think the lack of sex in Hollywood can be traced at least in part to the Chinese market. There's a lot of money in it and studios are more than happy to comply with CCP guidelines to get a share of that pie.
