I think a lot of developers would break at the point of native cross platform support. I like writing stuff people use, that's cool, but it's a huge pain to write for and test on platforms I'm not going to use like Windows an

I realize it is popular to hate CEOs nowadays, but the article sure seems to be stretching with its conclusions. It seems much simpler and more likely to simply conclude that companies pay CEOs more than usual and give them large non-cash i

Isn't your server just virtual? Your instance could be running on a physical host running a hundred others, all accessing disk at the same time. A lot of times these cloud providers don't really target super fast individual respon

Why would you find that hard to believe? The NSA has been putting their own hardware in other people's data centers and requiring their SSL keys, for example. So it certainly happens in the US.

Not sure why they don't just brute force their data out. Back when Google was hiding Google I/O redeem codes with goo.gl links, I brute forced thousands of links out of that shortener, just using 20 lines of bash script. I was jus

Definitely. I know the NYC iOS meetup has people advertising gigs or looking for work every session, and even more get made just networking in the bars afterwards.

Agreed. It is often a race to the bottom against programmers in a third world country with very little living costs, you are often lucky to get $40/hr until you have references and a good portfolio, but it can bring in enough to eat.
