Not on the App Store anymore, but I built a Japanese-English Dictionary that would give you SRS notifications (a few hours later, a few days later, a few more days later) of words you looked up. I did this because I often looked up words, b

Frontend continues to spiral out of complexity, I strongly doubt it. A lot of said complexity is moving to the server with SSR etc - I'd still say this sort of work is considered "frontend development", even if you are writin

Re events - You can type events in Vue with `defineEmits`: https://vuejs.org/api/sfc-script-setup.html#defineprops-defi... Re global enums - I'm not sure what the author means about global enums - anything importe

I think a single tool to solve design + testing would be great. Cypress does Component Testing now, and you can use it in a Storybook-esque fashion, but it doesn't export to a static site for documentation, and instead of using knobs&#

I had this issue too, are you using React? The problem I was having was to do with React re-rendering out of step with Cypress (which was going *too* fast). I have only seen this issue with JS based VDOM frameworks.

We added experimental support for WebKit [0]. It uses PW WebKit under the hood (as mentioned in the blog post). Disclosure: I work on Cypress (but I did not work on the WebKit feature). Firefox works great with Cypress. Cypress definitely h

I made some content showing how the new Cypress Component Testing can also handle things you might use RTL for [0]. You can evening use the TL finders (but I don’t in this series). [0] https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC2L

Hello! I have some input and questions and feedback - I have a deep interest in this topic. For background, I studied Japanese to a reasonable level of proficiency (read novels, worked in an all-Japanese company for many years, passed N1, e

Hi! I'll try to speak to this a bit. Disclaimer: I work on Cypress. The main reason there are lots of articles about Playwright is it's newer and solves some issues people have with E2E testing in Cypress (like multi-tab support)

Is 4 years even possible? I’m nearly 15 years in and probably know about 1500 kanji (not using WaniKani). I feel like all these stories really sensastionalize how much people really know.

I'm still not really sold; obviously not good to be overly dogmatic, but MVC taught us the value in putting business (M) in a separate module to the view (V) and hooking them up via a controller (C). Why does all this knowledge suddenl

At least the original article has some reasoning. You just say "no". This is not very useful. You also assert it's "completely wrong" without any evidence. Reading between the lines, it's more like "I disa

> no stability is in sight I'd disagree with this point. The require/import mess is due to multiple competing standards. Now Node.js has ESM support built-in, and so do all modern browsers, there is finally a single standard th

I disagree - when you start out, just seeing something happening is exciting - with JS, a tiny bit of CSS and HTML, you can have a real website deployed that does something in a few days of learning. Any other language, you'll be stuck

Sure - this seems to be an implementation detail, though - eg, Remix and Next.js are both on Node.js but seem to have some difference that's not abstracted away, in terms of how you develop, how concerns are separated, etc.
