And the reason for this is there is usually "a guy" that mistakes his current love for X with X being better than every other competing product. Sometimes what happens is that somebody buys X, X is expensive, and so now everybody

The choice of technology by developers and their managers is guided in large part by trends rather than by wholly rational decision process. The type of database should be dictated by the application requirements. Relational databases provi

I disagree. MBA is a way of getting some specific type of knowledge. For a determined person they can do it on their own, the information is and has always been accessible (if you care to read books). I think what changed is a perception of

It is. It is like saying that access to Stack Overflow diminishes and undermines status of elite software developers. The reality is a lot of people do not know how to use the "democratized access" they get. Being able to log in a

There is a fundamental difference between being incompetent at waging war and organized, systematic action to erase an entire group of people simply because of their genes. If you really want to compare Nazi to US you would have to imagine

It is bonkers. But the only way we can even have that video is because the molecules are being frozen in the crystalline lattice. As far as I know there exists no recording of actual molecules in a liquid (except maybe for something extreme

The individual atoms are much more mobile than the crystalline structure here. They are probably moving way too fast to be captured on a time scale that the crystal grows. Think in terms of trying to make video of a tree growing and expecti

I think main reason is our flawed education. The tasks you are being given at school are usually constructed so that they fit the idealized knowledge you just learned. What it teaches people is to short cut the critical path of reasoning wh
