I get baffled at how such basic security mistakes are made. Either who did them doesn't care or doesn't know, of which neither is good for - at least - applications that store such sensitive information.

I'll probably be downvoted but I think it's in bad taste to use this kind of (bad) news as another way to market your product. I'll surely won't be buying your product nor recommending it. /rant What you've sai

You'd prefer that any website had full access to the Bluetooth stack and could see all your nearby devices?!

Why is it click-bait? It just says that support for the Bluetooth API was added. Why would anyone extract from that that there were no safeguards in place against abuse?!

In regard to the compass aspect, why would the compass work mostly everywhere? Indoor is not a problem for the earth magnetic field, nor is a airplane.. The GPS not working everywhere (specially indoors) makes sense: it can't receive t

I believe that many people don't use stored procedures/functions because of lack of knowledge/know-how, difficulty or needing something done yesterday (which in itself is related to the previously), unfortunately. I say this

I gave AppCode a small spin recently. It worked pretty well — as I've come to expect from JetBrains. It builds and launches apps directly into your device or simulator (presumably using the command line tools of Xcode). There is, howev

In the mini-PC case I can see it as a positive thing, where you can hide the power supply somewhere and just have the smallish PC box visible. So, to me, the mini PC box makes sense even if it comes with a large power supply. In the case of

I was under the impression that the kernel extension was a separate product, it's being included in the standalone Dropbox application? You do have a point about giving it administrator privileges, the post however shows very clearly t

You're assuming everyone trusts Dropbox with all their files and that everyone installs their kernel extension, which is a wrong assumption.

From what I know (which is not much) scanners, among other things, search for identifying patterns in files. So there is an identifying pattern of each discovered malware/virus in a database.

IMO it really depends on the cybercrime. Maybe in this instance 2-3 years should be sufficient. I can, however, imagine scenarios where much longer sentences should be applied. If a cybercrime results in human casualties, for (a more extrem
