Upvoted to save you from the negatives because I too am tired of seeing the comparison to blockchain. I'm not sure where it even comes from other than just being another recent hype train people remember, but blockchain settled into a

Yes? Why would that be Stripe's business? Should Stripe also restrict you from renting R-rated movies or buying condoms?

Highly recommend getting the $20/month OpenAI sub and letting copilot use that. Quality-wise I feel like I'm getting the same results but OAIs limits are a little more sane.

On reread: worth noting that the link you provided for some reason includes "missed more than 2 weeks of work" under "medical bankruptcy". I won't dismiss that out of hand without knowing more but that smells bad.

How free do you want it? Emergency healthcare is free at point of service in the US. Most other healthcare is covered partially or entirely if you're employed, which you should be. I've had hundreds of thousands of dollars of inpa

Nearly identical with a coat of paint. Every "horror story" I've heard about having to beg with the health system here is tellingly parroted by people who do not have experience with the system. It is the default to get itemi

Aside from the prescription part, this is exactly 1:1 how it works in the US. I say this having myself and my family utilize all of it extensively, public tax-funded emergency treatment, inpatient coverage, private doctors and specialists.

It's always interesting to see no US commentators on threads like this and I wonder if other countries could take notes. I've been laid off in the US and been able to lean on the social safety net with no issues while seeking new

It's a bit of an aside but your disclaimer intrigued me - YouTube is extraordinarily useful and the popular belief is that it is, I'm not sure at all it's anywhere near a popular belief otherwise. It's like defending a t

Turn radius is big for this feeling I think. Lots of game cars feel like they're rotating from the center of mass when you turn instead of following the arc of the tires, I'm guessing to make sharper turns easier.

Over-estimation or not, it's safer to take an Uber than the subway or bus. The granularities of the stats don't affect my decision much. > I don't see why you apply that to the NYC subway and not to Boeing flights Because

That's reasonable, and as I noted in another comment I've only lived in the US and can only provide that perspective. Though I see a lot of discourse around this dismissed as "US-centric" while avoiding the fact that the

For me it comes down to a very binary decision. Any measurable number of passenger-on-passenger incidents in the NYC subway is enough to give me pause over taking a taxi or Uber. It doesn't happen on planes, and taxis and uber have bet

Again I think these are different concerns. On a plane I am with a section of the public that can hold their life together enough to buy a plane ticket, and I do not feel overtly physically threatened by them. On a subway I am with a sectio

I don't disagree, but I still have more recourse as a dead man who hired an Uber with a license plate and never made it to his destination vs. stabbed to death on a subway with 100 people, CCTV and no witnesses.

I think these are just different measurements of safety. I do trust a subway to get to its destination on a reasonable schedule to a greater degree than an Uber, but to me that's a very different question than physical safety. The NYC
