People have started realizing that when people say "AOSP Android" they actually mean "Google Android" because the discussion is never about how to get rid of google bloat, only how to get rid of manufacturer or telco blo

Note that I mentioned NG and Oil and commodities as drivers of inflation, not QE.

All false. Every trading/investing website worth its salt could see inflation coming. They've been exhorting people to invest in oil and natural gas since 2020. Those two are the biggest drivers in inflation. The commodity index a

Ffmpeg is a great tool for programmatically editing videos. For one-off jobs a gui editor is probably better. If you want to create a slideshow for 300 folders of images, ffmpeg is really your best friend. For one, maybe use a gui editor.

This "what about grandma and the ads" argument is tiresome. Try getting viruses on your Apple or Windows laptop which was advertised as secure and going to their support and see what happens. They'll just point you to their f

If they plow all their revenue into a lossy self-driving program and exec compensation, they never have to turn a profit.

Benefits I suppose? Benefits can take various forms. One person I know has been on subsidized housing for almost a decade after a low-paying stint, even though they now earn very well.

The German government doesn't relocate you to Timbuktu if you are on benefits, you get to keep living in your city and maybe even your neighborhood.

Where your comparison falls apart is that every nerd knows that you can't run all cores at 100% all the time, that's just wasteful.. thus underclocking and shutting off cores when not in use is part of every modern processor.

This is why I just buy the cheap cases from ebay or Amazon. No sense in going for an artisanal case when most of them are bad quality anyway.

Airbnb's don't have exact addresses and usually no exterior photos. How do you find them on street view? I'd be interested because it would help me as well.

Just look at the median wealth of the population. Many people don't own a home, and that kills the wealth statistics. A few BMW heirs, Aldi brothers and Lidl owner push up the average vastly.

I thought you have to book a seat separately on Flixtrain, at least when I looked a couple of days ago to compare to the DB train.

Germany is a relatively high-trust based society, so in Berlin you don't have turnstiles like other cities. However if you are caught riding without a ticket, the fine is 60€ for the first 2 offences and goes up after that.

Also a foreigner living in Berlin, not sheltered. I've seen harsh words and physical posturing that could easily be one step below actual violence with the contractors. They are out to get people, and show no mercy. Once you get a tick

This comparison (Hamburg to Rome) is silly. The thread is about the 9€ ticket, which is only valid on regional trains in Germany and the point is to save money for consumers and save the environment by replacing car journeys with train jour

India has funded solar panel research and development, but it is a small country for the number of people who need the power. As mentioned, hot and dusty too, both are bad for solar panel efficiency.

If your only KPI is "Am I at unicorn valuation yet?" then yes, but I'm sure you can do well being a small fish in a big pond. There are still underserved markets out there. Find your niche and build your product around it.
