XPath 3 and XQuery 3 are powerful and great technologies to query XML if you need that stuff. The problem is that most implementations cover XPath 1.0 because I guess it is too difficult (i.e. time consuming and involved) to produce a 2.x o

"state malware" is quite a weird grouping of terms. I understand people find "exported" to be the most disturbing word in "exported state malware" but not for me.

Cool idea. It looks like it doesn't check if french accents have been typed. I could write the letter without its accent and it considered that it was good. And with its accent, it is good too.

Same here. Still in 10.14. Work machine is already on Linux. Personal one will be soon. Sad to lose some apps (e.g. Dash, Affinity, Alfred, Fantastical, Postbox, 1Password, ...) but in the end it will be more powerful and fast with Linux an

That's why I love HN comments. Always learning a lot of stuff and regularly the comments are more interesting than the original post itself. This is the case for this one I think. Or at least a nice complement.

So true. In a month I will receive my new laptop with a qwerty US layout instead of the belgian azerty one I used until now. Using an external keyboard for now, I already see the benefit of qwerty for programmers. And I also switch from mac

I learned Pascal, programming logic based on invariants, WP, ... and algorithms with Pierre-Arnoul de Marneffe between 1994 and 1998. That was a very good time and proved so interesting and useful. I knew he had someting to do with Knuth an

Learned that and the "weakest precondition" stuff from Pierre-Arnoul de Marneffe in 1994 at the University of Liège (ULg). Very useful but we didn't grasp the full power of it at that time.
