I discovered this for my Model III one morning, and my parents couldn't pull me away to leave for school. I had to try each one! You could change the shape of the cursor, the cursor blink rate, and even display a clock in the upper-rig

Me too. They must have had a surge of takeouts given the recent lock-outs.

You're right. Last time I tried it Amazon told me that this format wouldn't work with my bucket (because it was created after a certain date), but now it does (with a different hostname). Thanks!

Yep, and my site includes photos from S3, and S3 can't be https (because my bucket name has periods in it, like Amazon suggested). I guess I'll have to proxy the images myself.

I remember learning quite a bit of Lojban back in 1989 using a flashcard program on my PC. I even subscribed to Bob LeChevalier's newsletter for a while. I drifted away from it probably because it wasn't solving a problem that I h

Counterintuitive rule: When the founder has had a successful startup in the past. They tend to be both overconfident and under-motivated.

No, my heart rate goes up (like everyone else's) but doesn't come back down for a while (10 minutes?). I have no endurance and resting between workouts doesn't recharge me.

A well-run study should control for weight and smoking. But the undiagnosed cardiovascular disease can't be controlled for. Exercise is much harder for me than for others, for example, and I don't know why.

Practice is the key to getting better at everything. Ignore the concept of innate talent or gift. People who are good are good because they spent a lot of time practicing. People who practice a lot usually do so because they’re interested i

I've used Ant, Maven, and Gradle, and Ant is the only one that's never given me a minute's trouble. But it's true that it has a bad reputation. It feels harder to use when everything is working right.

It's not so much that Java is great at everything. It's more like it doesn't suck at anything. Every other language has, somewhere, a deal-breaker for some particular use. I've not found one for Java. And Java's big

Okay honest question: How did you get bitcoins? I've looked around and my options seem to be to give my CC number to a shady website or to meet someone in person and give them cash. Is there really no safe-sounding option?

I don't think you're using it as intended. I also want to use it the way you do, but I think most people don't mind missing tweets. They're just dipping their toes in the stream. Facebook works the same way. I get FOMO.

My emulator does Level 3. The difference is the language itself. The graphics were the same for both (blocky, as you say).

I agree, the manuals were great. (Though I bought them again on eBay for this project and they actually contained a lot of errors!) But also the floppy came with sample programs, and I learned most of Pascal from those.
