Depends on the size of the pot (and how full said pot is). Energy in - energy out == energy needed to boil. If energy in per second is really high, and energy needed to boil is relatively small, you'll get there quickly, without energy

If pouring boiling water from a kettle--a thing designed specifically for pouring water--into a pot significantly increases the risk of spilling boiling water, seems like your only option is to limit yourself to cold liquids.

I've been wishing we could do an electric kettle with two heating units, on the off-chance that I have two nearby outlets on different circuits.

I've signed up for plenty of these lists with per-site emails, and it's very rare for me to end up getting email from anyone but the list I signed up for. Might be different when shopping on international sites (though I doubt it&

> When boiling water or cooking almost anything in a pot, cover it with the lid! Blows my mind when I see people boiling water (huge pots of water!) with no lid on. In many cases, they were waiting around 30 minutes for the water to boil

A little. Thanks for the detailed reply. But I wouldn't expect a smaller, more targeted Claude.md would make a big difference. My impression is that we're filling up the context less with Claude.md than with the session work: back

Yes, some things go up in prices. Would you conclude from that fact that no prices go down? Because that's the claim I'm responding to.

Reminder: Prices regularly drop in capitalist economies. Food used to be 25% of household spending. Clothing was also pretty high. More recently, electronics have dropped dramatically. TVs used to be big ticket items. I have unlimited cell

I'm unsure if I'm missing context. Did he do something beyond posting an angry tweet? It seems like he's upset about AI (same), and decided to post angry tweets about it (been there, done that), and I guess people are excited

Looks like I'm getting a ProtonMail ad every few new tabs. I never noticed because I've never looked at the new tab page. Doesn't noticeably slow it down to have the ad there, luckily.

I do. We have paid police, because we want law and order. We have paid dump/collection center workers, because you need a place to take trash. We have paid teachers and school staff, because we want a good education for our kids. We ha

You likely don't need to install a special charger or breaker panel. A regular 120V wall outlet will give probably give you 30+ miles of range just charging overnight. If your commute is longer, you might want a better charger, but don
