It seems obvious to me that Bezos took this one public so early to garner public support so that the FAA can't just sit on it forever. All of Amazon's other initiatives didn't need some federal regulator to OK it before the

I actually think the decentralized nature of bitcoin is what gives it all it's value. The fact that no bank can control it, inherently holds value. Currency manipulation is a really big problem right now, and knowing that you can bu

I cut the Time Warner Cable cord in Q3 as well. We have an Apple TV which plays Netflix, Hulu, PBS, Rented Movies, Music and YouTube. After 2-3 months of us never switching off of the Apple TV HDMI port, I told the kids I was going to cance

Liquidity is the most important thing. The thing that holds back bitcoin is that I can't buy my groceries with it. Once a currency can be used it is more valuable. To overcome this, a company like Amazon would need to accept bitcoin

I've used it and it is pretty mediocre or at times just inaccurate. I get so many false alerts from Google about the site being down that I've turned it off. As another comment puts it, it's just the wrong tool for the job.

"I'm old, I can recall a late 60s moral panic about LSD - it supposedly made you have babies with lobster claws, if you survived the mandatory dive out of a 2nd floor window. There was an early 70s panic over heroin, and then the

Maybe a crowd sourced blocker would be ideal for identifying divs in a site. It would be a plugin that allows you to mark a spot on a page that is an ad and the plugin will record the very specific CSS path and hide it permanently for you a

The investment pitch is interesting and while I own my own startup I don't think I have the knowledge it takes to take a page of text and determine if I should invest, even if the sum is small. Regarding Shyp, it would be great to imag

I just read the Method section of this study and it seems really slanted to produce a correlation. It asks 5 questions daily, 4 were about how well the participant felt and the last one was a direct question asking how long the user was on

I don't know anything about military strategy or missile technology but I'm having a hard time seeing how a missile making a turn that slow would really be effective at evading any kind of supersonic defensive weapon. Also, missil

I want to emphasize how big the gap is between $3/mo hosting and free. I started programming when I was 12 and I learned I could submit a "website" instead of a very large history project. This was a very long time ago and

This is a very important distinction to remember when you hear people trying to find little technicalities around the law. This solution may subvert the letter of the law but it does not give you immunity from the spirit of the law (which
