It's not disrespectful for a company to ask you to write a little code for them. They're just as invested on the time front as you are since they have to read and analyze what you send them. Now, if you were to tell me that nobody

Why is there a comment like this on every single HN post lately? Yes, you fall outside of the fat part of the bell curve. Congrats. What's your point? A single outlier does not disprove the post. edited to add: fat part of the bell cu

I was one of the users who flagged it and wished it had stayed flagged. If I wanted to read political propaganda, I'd go to CNN.

A few days late here, but Nvidia Optimus is a general issue on all platforms, including windows. I raved for years about linux graphics support being crap, to the general amazement of the rest of the linux community. When I switched to wi

Tolls are a monopoly granted by the government, which makes it the opposite of a free market. The real result of a free market would be private roads or highways that would compete against each other for tolls. Neither are a great solution.

That's not the source of the stress of coding on a whiteboard. The source of the stress is you have to guess what the interviewer wants or you don't get to pay your bills next month.

And that's exactly why I like work to hire. The biggest factors that contributes to whether you like your job or hate your life are your boss, the people you work with and the state of the code base. You don't get a good impressio
