The article this discussion has a lot of the points that make it unpleasant to me. Everything is slow. I don't dare touch the page until it's fully loaded (and I don't always know that has from the browser's progress bar

Mobile browsing is awful enough that I avoid it as much as possible. There's a few sites I trust or need that I use (wikipedia, a couple of news sites, train time tables), but otherwise I restrict my web browsing to the laptop. It woul

I wrote mine along similar lines, except without using hashing at all. Files of identical size are compared byte-by-byte instead, until first difference or end of file. As many files as possible at a time, of course, to avoid having to read

I am most upset at this continued insistence of using a Bel as unit of data.

Imagine someone who travels around the world with a suitcase of SSDs to deliver data... possibly for criminals, big corporations, or governments. Johnny Mnemonic meets Transporter except plausible.

I architected and co-implemented Kannel, 15 years ago, at the now-defunct Wapit Ltd. I'm very glad that it's still being used, specially for something as awesome as this.

I maintain that IoT is short for "Insecurity of Things", not "Internet of Things". Makes the IoT hype so much easier to deal with.

I use the MAFF plugin for Firefox. This lets me save a page, with embedded media, to a file. Works with every page, not just selected sites. A generic solution trumps site-specific ones, in my opinion.

I don't use TrueCrypt myself, and haven't followed what's happening with it in any detail, but I'll comment on the general question here: why do you need to keep up to date with vulnerabilities in order to keep secure. F
