Interestingly enough my Uncle is the same way. He is an entrepreneur although, his business has absolutely nothing to do with the tech industry, so it's not a problem unique to hackers, but to startups. Along with my own experience, my star

Laptops are going to be cheaper, last longer, and going to be harder to break IMHO. IPad's are fun and I definitely use mine, but I'm not sure if they are the best bet for this application. Outside of looking cool and making patients think

Actually one of the guys I go to school with is looking to do that. He's creating a site that aggregates all of your social networks among other things and stores them creating a sort of digital timeline. I'm not real sure on the details as

In one company for a particular position yes, the article seemed to be insinuating some sort of general notion that jobs are a finite resource. It especially comes across because of the finger pointing at an entire generation.

I hate it when people insinuate that jobs are some sort of magical commodity that there are only so many of and once they're gone that's it.

Well if you aren't failing you're not trying. I think we as Americans, I can't speak to any sort of European or other experience, have grown up with this attitude that makes us very afraid of putting ourselves into situations where we could

This is a good idea, but the challenge to this is to try and keep it from falling into the whole "friend whoring" that myspace had going. Which, in my opinion, is part of the reason myspace died off. So if they can do this correctly I'd lov

I'd argue that there's more good than bad about algorithmic trading. People making decisions based on fear and adrenaline is much more dangerous than setting a pre-determined course and sticking to a mathematical model. Besides, it's not li

Interesting, I like the simple layout, but it would be nice to have a price comparison of a few days in each direction like some sites have (I'm thinking Virgin Atlantic) so you can save some money by leaving a day early or a day late. Over

Jobs becoming obsolete? Yes surely just as we have never recovered from the loss of shoe cobbling jobs or manual labor farming jobs due to the industrial revolution the internet and technology will be the death of us all!

This is something I struggled with for a long time in regards to my own company. I did ultimately though end up with going with a "Freemium" model though. The article does a good job pointing out the strengths of freemium, and I think for a

I kind of feel like this is a bandaid solution. While this may help with travel expenses this seems indicative of a larger issue that needs to be dealt with directly. I think you need to have a talk with your investors about this rather tha
