Forgive me if I misunderstand, but couldn't you just look at what people click on and assume they had clicked next for all the results before it?

Honestly, I don't want trials to ever be quick. If you're talking about putting someone in jail, you better be really freaking sure the guy is a threat to society and not just having a really bad week. I have threatened bloody murder to man

What would the police do? Break his legs? (Honestly, it seems the kind of circumstance where I can't really think of anything the police should be able to do to anyone who seems dangerous or "suspicious", because both are very much judgemen

If I had to guess, sites targeted at the early-adopter-techy crowd probably do far better after being reported on TechCrunch than things targeted at say recent parents (or your niche market of choice). In any case, yes, threats and violence

I've had three things I've worked on get posted to TC, and it was totally useless. Traffic had minimal stickiness (lots of clicks to the frontpage and nothing else), and when I think about my behavior when I read TC, it definitely makes sen

I got credit at Berkeley for some pretty silly things let me tell you ;) Sure, you have to have reasonable content, but for example, I had a friend who led a decal on Asian Soap Operas. Any professor can sign off on pretty much any decal, a

Mind you this is a "decal", which are kind of like clubs in a sense, with student instructors that teach classes more for personal edification purposes than "omg legitimate course of study!"

Also, I think with Gmail its a bit harder to decide how much to store on your local drive. I believe Reader just stores your unread stuff, but with email you often want to search or reference old messages, so its a substantially more compli

Both. If you do anything in Java, people will ask for Eclipse integration. Clearly the market has spoken in Java-world ;) Emacs is good because people who are "good at Emacs" are good at text-editing in general. The tool is more general, bu

One argument against doing both is that Prototype alters many built in classes directly. This is often risky and dangerous, and makes interactions between the two code bases possible.
