I'm afraid the reason Flash works poorly on platforms other than Win32 and Adobe is dropping the platform support is that they don't have the people that understand their code anymore, and there's noone to make it run (properly) on new plat

Yes, that's for sure. It's just unclear if I need any of those improvements except for games (which I'd happily sacrifice on my laptop).

Good question. I think there's no similar action analogous to burning books online, so people inclined to do so are left to other kinds of action, like writing angry comments and blog posts.

Laptops with touch screens FTW! I wonder what the whole computer industry is waiting for? Are they again waiting for Apple to come and do and make what everyone else should have done long time ago instead?

I wonder what democracy in the country has to do with trusting the hardware company? Looks to me like some otherwise reasonable people have a democracy fetish: they mention it from time to time for now apparent reason.

I agree, Apple is not particularly guilty of that; in fact, I think they are better than average. It's just that it looks like the average could be so much better, if only manufacturers and consumers cared.

Unfortunately, high-capacity cells are not enough if device manufacturers actively sabotage the potential for building longer-lived devices. The manufacturers can just add some power-hungry features instead. In 2004 Intel had CPU parts with

I hope they will consider supporting Linux if they raise way more than their goal (which looks likely). FAQ says that additional funds can go to "additional release platforms for the game".
