RE the article you've linked: > everyone knows goto was bad. Absolutely hard disagree. You can write extremely clean and resilient C with C89, goto, and a handful of rules. Telling people `goto` is bad is how we get shitty C program

I agree with you, and my issue is exactly that seemingly the popular opinion here is that you CAN zero-shot things you don't understand.

I'm not who you asked, but my workflow is the same it always was, just that one tool in the process is an LLM. That's it. If I find a task to be annoying and repetetive, I use an LLM to do it, then validate it. The quality of my w

I hope I never have to work with people like this. Actual nightmare fuel to live your entire life through LLMs. "I trained Claude to love my wife so I can focus on prompting" vibes.

We all know the most highly valued people in the world are the smartest. In fact, the more money you're being paid, the more value you add, the more your opinion is worth, and the more skill you have. The amount of money you're wo

You're saying that, if I go and vibe-code an app to implement a couple of those algorithms, they will be correctly implemented?

... because there are open source tools that implement these things properly? Take Darktable, if you try to build an alternative because you "just want to do a bit of color grading" you will produce garbage. My point is that AI br

And most importantly, you don't care at all if the tool you vibe-coded is any good. If you write at tool that converts an image to black & white, you are the kind of person who doesn't know or care what KIND of black&white

I just want to say I absolutely love Mullvad! You guys did a fantastic job at designing a genuinely good and trustworthy (as much as possible) VPN vendor. You communicating here is just another data point towards this.

Yes they are training on your business's data so that their AI can replace your business later. If you don't believe it, name one thing they didn't train on.

I heard from a friend that you can rent VPSs in pretty much any non-western country with some bitcoin (as long as you do nothing illegal, they don't care). I wouldn't suggest using it to circumvent any laws, but my friend used it

Lol, but really coal power plants are more dangerous work environments, coal mining as well, and then of course there's the pollution (which, opposed to nuclear, isn't bottled up and stored, and instead just exhausted).
