Im always happy to update my arch install, because I usually get new features to play with, and my system has not broken due to updates in 4 years.

If I wanted an AI book I would just prompt an LLM for it.

How does the tax-payer lose money on this? Is there money from the government involved here?

The government does not give money for this, that is not the point and is not how this works at all. This would simply make it easier to get compensated for open source contributions (tax-free, to a certain small number).

So is this app essentially written by an LLM, not by you?

How did you go about building this? What was your process, and how did you use AI to aid you?

I would gladly pay 40 bucks to enter, but I think student tickets etc. must exist to ensure people can afford to go to learn.

General rule of thumb: If you're going to ask an LLM and then make a post based on that, simply don't post it. If we wanted a randomly generated take on this, we would just ask an LLM ourselves.

To add some details actually; we were concerned about three major points: 1. The project would deal with user's data to some degree 2. The project was going to "annoy" an existing, much larger, project who would have likely t

This is absolutely the correct next step. When considering starting a pretty sizeable FOSS project in the past (was going to be AGPL-3, we had a team and had just left another project to start this), we considered registering an e.V. in Ger

I use fastmail for my and my family's mail, with many domains. It works fantastically, the android app and web app are very good, and it allows any settings, forwarding, clients, automation that I could think of. The other features (fi

I wonder that, too. Surely, this is a fantastic opportunity to claim that it comes from whoever is declared evil right now, and force a harder us-vs-them mindset. If people don't have a clearly defined "evil bad guy" that is

I think so. I know too many developers who cannot be bothered to have a password-manager, beyond the chrome/firefox default one. Anything else, and even those, are usually "the standard 2-3 passwords" they use.

Can someone with some more experience explain why this happens? The most basic webserver, like a TCP socket served from a C program, serving some files etc. can take tens of thousands of requests per second, per core, on reasonably recent h

Curious why you do this with AI instead of just writing it yourself? You should be able to whip up a Lexer, Parser and compiler with a couple weeks of time.
