Yes, most are wannabe vigilantes. Sometimes ransom but CloudFlare has kind of killed that line of business.

With how tongue-in-cheek the whole document is, this is clearly a joke to emphasize their point (which, I agree, has no place in a legal document, no matter how plain). My point is that everything else in the document is pretty much industr

Having been in that business: Web hosting companies receive a TON of abuse. Some of them specialize in dealing with large DDoS attacks, unpopular/illegal/shady content, but most don't and want to spend their time on their pro

No, IRR assignments are only regional in terms of the company requesting them. A European company can use their RIPE resources anywhere in the world without "delegating" them. Yes, filter lists generated by recursively resolving I

Yes - you have to be a member of the Chiemgauer e.V. association in order to use or accept the vouchers, which is why it's called "vereinsintern", i.e. "internal to the association". It's not a general-purpose

I'm sad to see Zulip excluded from the list. It solves the #1 issue with large group chats - proper threading. Nothing worse than waking up to a 1000 message backlog you have to sort through to filter out the information relevant to yo

I live in Europe and I do trust my ISP (and government, which has a decent track record at enforcing GDPR). Even with DoH, my ISP already sees all of my network traffic. My DNS queries will effectively be anonymized by their recursive name

There's plenty of specialized providers which provide this service, Verisign is one of many. The issue with on-demand BGP mitigation is that an attacker can do short attacks on and off over a long period of time. Each time the mitigati

I tried Pipedrive but if you want to sync contacts with Google Contacts, they insist on accessing your mails as well. No way to reduce OAuth scope. To make matters worse, they use a third party API to do this, so you trust not just one, but

Even better - you only need root on either device. Just set a higher initial TTL on your tethered device, or rewrite the TTL on the phone. But carriers don't use that anymore, too easy to bypass.
