At this point, our self-hosted CI and code review tooling has had significantly better uptime for the past year. The advantage of having someone else operate it evaporates when it is neutralized by complexity and scale. The failure modes

That doesn't help one bit with the impedance mismatch that you get when you want to do something that goes against libvirt's abstraction layer.

But they also hid it behind it layers of XML-laden complexity. If you know exactly what you want, using QEMU directly may be preferable.

Thoughtful features like supporting UEFI Secure Boot with vTPM attestation. This allows building setups where even a full GCP account compromise can be mitigated. Integration with our org GSuite (this alone is a massive plus).

Politicians should absolutely be held accountable for what they say in a semi-public ("pseudo-private") forum. In this context, the journalist is right. Making Clubhouse record the calls is, of course, the wrong solution.

Buildkit's caches are a killer feature. They go a long way towards making Docker builds usable for iterative development. We also migrated back to Docker from Podman because of Buildkit and the general bugginess of Podman.

Great idea - let's rewrite the most security-critical piece of container tech in plain C! Red Hat literally took a memory safe Go program and rewrote it in C for performance, in 2020.
