Assuming you're talking about PPC-to-x86, it was certainly usable, though noticeably slower. Heck, I used to play Tron 2.0 that way, the frame rate suffered but it was still quite playable.

That's going to be very slow though, as it will read and write everything one byte at a time. The problem of course is that you can't specify seek/skip/count values as bytes unless your block size is 1 byte. If you don&#

No they didn't. Find by Name… still exists. It's ⌃⇧⌘F (ctrl-shift-cmd-F). You might have missed it because it's a dynamic menu item (Find turns into Find by Name… once you press ⌃⇧). Tip: Use the Help menu to search menu item

Disabling link previews in high protection mode is more likely to be a combination of not issuing any network requests that could accidentally leak your IP, and being able to see the full URL so link previews can't pretend to be a diff

Is it? Has anyone actually tested sending a QR code over iMessage? Because doing that does not generate a link preview, and so there is no reason for Messages.app to be decoding it and fetching the URL. If macOS really is background-scann

A key weakness of TUIs is the complete lack of accessibility. Everything is characters arranged for the eye to see, there's nothing at all for screen readers to use to extract semantic meaning.
