I've tried too many times already to use the Jetbrains IDEs, because I know they're great, specially about the IntelliSense stuff, autocompletion, suggestions, etc. But I just can't. My fingers are just too used to vscode, an

I think it depends a lot on the tools you use. I and my coworkers as a Web Developers (working for a company with more than 2k of us, and having worked for a few others with similar numbers) have zero problems with it. Initially docker supp

Nah. More or less the same marketing s*t that's going on with Remix. The author has fake accounts pretending to be a happy user to promote the framework. That stuff really puts me off, even if the framework might be awesome technically

Remix is a huge risk in my opinion. It is made by the same people that broke React Router's API like 6 times in many incompatible ways. Basically they rewrite everything and keep using the same name. Even now they claim Remix has milli

My solution to this is to have two separate accounts on my work laptop. One for work, the other one for side projects, personal browser, courses, learning, etc. As long as you're not doing anything illegal and are running on a non Admi

One of the reasons is that you get a real backend framework. With all the security stuff, authentication, database access, validation, background jobs, command line tasks, translations, emails, caching, etc, etc, etc.

And remix is ripping features from Vercel. Such as they business model, and the idea of creating their own framework for it. Additionally, I wouldn't trust ever again the guys that rewrote and broke react-router with incompatible chang

Does this affect in any way the `api` routes? Could these also be moved under the new `app` folder?

by likortera 4y ago
The problem is that it is not that easy to classify stuff as black or white. Most of the services we use are right in between. What's worse, what starts on one side might evolve to the other as new features are added. So the "It&#

It is a trade off. In most other ecosystems such as Java, Python, PHP, etc if you have a dependency A that depends on B 1.0, and a dependency C that depends on B 2.0, you cannot have both of them installed, so you either pick one or the oth

Yeah, plain HTML and CSS is great and all, until you need a shared layout, dynamic ObjectGraph headers, a RSS feed, translations, or anything else more complex than a one-page landing page. Right tool for the job. I still remember the days

I think Go is a great tool, if you use for the problems it was intended to solve. Replacing something you otherwise would have built with C, C++ or maybe Java. The problem is when people try to use it for *everything*, like web applications
