I would prefer Joanne Rowling, Mauritus Escher and Clive Lewis use their more common monikors than Google compliant ones. I don't even know DMX's real name. It feels like Google is trying to enforce something most of us associate with our

At least for me, the draw for Underscore.js was that array functions like .filter and .forEach are not supported in all browsers. In that case, _().select and _().each are great for keeping the code clean. I'm not sure I agree with porting

Do you know a way to disable strict identity over equality checking (=== vs ==)? It's a Crockford-ism, but I think the jury's still out on the value of strict type checking vs coercion and I'd like the choice.

As I'm sure you've guessed, it's sometimes an emotional defense mechanism on the part of the survivors. Don't know anyone who wants to envision their loved one's last moments in agony, even if true.

From "Anonymous Cowards" calculations it was more like $74/hr if you consider overtime/oncall: $500,000 divide by 52 weeks = $9,615 / week $9,615 / (40 hours + (60 hours overtime x 1.5)) = $73.96 hourly wage

Do you need to move, though? If programmers really are that scarce, is a plane ticket + hotel enough disincentive to interview a good candidate?

There is some value in dogfooding. Perhaps he might be better able to envision and guide the Android teams if he were using one every day. What Android is doing right/wrong may be easier to tell when he has one rather than sifting through

Have you been more or less productive with your side projects? I'm wondering if getting more sleep produces more code than the college-style all-nighter hackathons over a long term.

A little OT, I was scrolling/reading the paragraph "We opted not to do the “likes” because..." and suddenly a black panel slid down and hid the entire paragraph. Clicked on it to dismiss, nothing. Clicked on the page to dismiss, nothing.
