Airplanes can also have these fitted on the wings. Although not as common as yaw strings and usually for demonstration purposes.

The difference is SpaceX don’t have these orbits forever. The satellites will fall back to earth and congress can enact regulations that limit the number of them launched in the future.

Question for the audience: would you say this is an example of Occam’s razor?

Airbus use a number of Italian suppliers [1]. Not 100% Italian made, but probably supporting more Italian jobs than buying Boeing. [1] https://www.google.com/search?channel=trow5&client=firefox-b...

One time I got run over by my FRC robot causing me to shout a profanity around a bunch of probably very disappointed adults at the competition. Not my proudest moment... The story is we were testing some autonomous code I wrote and it stopp

I still can’t believe Williams slipped up by putting such a detailed model of the car in the app.

My university won a competition run by Amazon, attacking this exact problem. Mostly it was a computer vision problem over actual handling of goods. https://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robotics/industrial-robo...

On their Twitter there’s video showing it getting 100W in full sunlight. That’s the equivalent to 0.5m^2 of rooftop solar. It’s just not worth the effort of putting the cells on the car.

The comparisons that they’re showing on their “Solar Integration” page is disingenuous at best. They state their cells have 20-22% efficiency, comparing them to much older silicon cells with 16% efficiency. The reality is modern affordable

I would imagine the mixing in of sand would mitigate this mostly.

It’s been very interesting to me how recently there’s been a lot of focus on green alternatives to materials that are carbon based. One solar race car team I follow has just announced that their new car will feature natural flax composites

“ The constraints of the target microcontroller may limit the number of language features that can be used in combination by a single application.” Thats a pretty huge caveat.

Likely not, but one of the reasons taxis want you to pay cash is it’s easier to report lower income and thus avoid tax.

Yes but one might watch a small selection of shows over many streaming services. And even still, I know several people who fill every spare minute with streamed tv to keep their conscience busy.

With these VPN services having become a race to the bottom, it's not all that unsurprising that stuff like this happens.

Your design example doesn't apply because the end user in this case isn't directly effected by their negligence. There is clear evidence that littering is societal. See how clean Japanese cities are despite almost everything being

LEGO Mindstorms has had a profound impact on my development in robotics from an early age. My mother was an IT teacher that used them to teach programming which gave me a unique opportunity to make whatever I wanted with the ten or so kits

Truck driving is one of those jobs that can't be scaled. Unless you set yourself up to manage other drivers (which of course not everyone can do), there really isn't anywhere for your career to go. Even in my current line of work–

When the Laser heats the filament, it's 1.75mm in diameter, so to get it down to the 0.4mm diameter for extrusion a nozzle is still required which also needs some heat so the plastic doesn't resolidify.

While I agree with most of what is said in this article, Markdown still has ubiquity. And while MD doesn't have an official standard, you still have a standard, it's just defined by whatever is rendering your MD. E.g. GitHub markd

Different wavelengths is the short answer. But yes, there would be enough interference to cause damage after a while. Note that these robots probably aren't usiu the latest 14nm process so they have a natural immunity to bit flips.

I love AvE, but really the easy approach here is not to write gcode by hand and to use something like Fusion360/HSMworks to do cam and generate the code for you. It's like you don't teach programming by starting with assembly

I don't get the general shock that people have over these mitigations slowing performance. Yeah we're throwing out the cash more often, of course it's going to be slower.
