When doing web development, I usually need the webpage + browser console open on one screen, and IDE on the other. I don't see how you can test all resolutions while keeping your code on screen otherwise. And when working on tricky pie

It's funny that I see that popping in HN, I've just reinstalled OpenMW the other day and am currently on my way to reveal myself to be the Nerevarine very soon. The project is making excellent progress in my opinion. I remember a

In contradiction with the first paragraph, there are definitely fields of software engineering with external regulation, auditors, etc. I'm thinking of the banking sector and realtime critical software, like in avionics and such.

In the Catholic rite, the bread _becomes_ the body of the Christ during Eucharist, a process known as _transubstantiation_ (meanwhile in protestant liturgy, it _contains_ the body of the Christ, a process known as _consubstantiation_). In a

I'm not a web designer but sometimes I have to set up a web interface quickly for internal tools or whatnot and I find Bootstrap very convenient, especially for responsiveness. I've not used it before version 4 though, so I came w

I'm feeling the same, I can't make any sense out of the article, not even about the article's main _claim_ actually. I guess it's just a matter of differing sensibilities?

I remember when I discovered that while in engineering school. I would try to pipe all kinds of files to see which ones had interesting acoustic signatures. I remember .iso files to be particularly interesting.

I'd be fairly proud of myself if I manage to write a working HTTP/0.1 library and command-line client in a week-end. I can barely imagine the amount of work put in cURL.

Well, you have to land at some point and doing it without the landing gear lowered would put in danger the life of all crew members and passengers so... Belly landing can be done and have occurred in the past of course but it's certain

Yeah exactly, I'd even go as far as saying that the standard is only useful if you're implementing a compiler or tracking down a bug in an existing one. I'm realizing now that the original question was more about those develo

I don't think you can really understand C++ by reading the standard to be honest. If you're such an expert you can read the standard in its original form, you're probably already a seasoned developer anyway.
