Can anyone summarize how this works. Guessing Audacity is some C++ program. How did they take all the dependencies and make them work on browser, using WASM? What about the frontend? Is the UI just completely re-written?

Read the article because I was curious what major the grad students had, but was disappointed in the journalist not detailing this fact. In my mind it does make a difference. I doubt the students were in math for example.

author doesn't take into account that although you cannot hear above 20khz or below 20hz. That doesn't mean you cannot sense it. Sound after all is just air vibrating, therefore obviously there must be an effect on the body.

I know that people cannot perceive sound at above 20Khz but has this verified with brain imaging? Just to be 100% certain that you are not subconsciously hearing something above 20Khz.
