How about Connected: http://connectedhq.com/ - CRM that is mostly based on data you already have on Gmail/LinkedIn/etc. They are still quite new, but I'm confident they're (mostly) taking the right way.

Uhm you sure about that posture? (didn't read the book though) As far as I've learned & experienced, meditation is always practiced sitting upright - it's actually a quite important part about it. Like that: http://www.google.at/images

Looks like they want to have only the best candidate, but for maintaining a horrible codebase. Obviously a position that's hard to fill.

Highly recommended: http://www.custdev.com/ (E-)book that summarizes the 4 Steps into a usable reference guide, with case studies mixed in.

Fun thing how that is completely the opposite for me (7th district in Vienna) - the Austrian postal service is most reliable - always arriving 8am straight. GLS/DHL/TNT vary, depending on the driver.

I'd rather say: In that very moment, aim for something that you really love doing. That might change over time, but don't ever pursue something for the wrong reasons (e.g. get rich quick & retire in your 30s). It will just eat you up. R

I would definitely add practicing design/UX/etc. to #1. A big part of creating a high-quality product is about good presentation & interaction - even if you have a designer in your future team it helps to speak their language. Previous

I've found "Inside the Machine" by Jon Stokes to be quite a good read, though it's a bit dated by now (published 2006) http://www.amazon.com/dp/1593271042/

A friend of mine did something similar for Austrian startups: http://www.startupwiki.at/ (in German, but it's basically a short summary for every company, information on where to get funding, and so on) Might be interesting to add regiona

If you're in the UK, I'm quite sure your best bet would be Seedcamp. I'm with one of the 2008 teams, and their program was really worth it. Their next deadline is April 6th for the London Mini Seedcamp ( http://seedcamp.com/pages/london09 )
