Thanks for sharing - author here. I've been working on this library for 2-3 months now, if somebody gives it a try let me know how it goes :) I'd be happy to answer any questions as well.

Pretty sure the labor certification and prevailing wage requirement is on a county / city basis (i.e. somewhat related to the actual local wages), see also https://www.dol.gov/whd/immigration/h1b.htm

I've built my own system to handle it in Austria - its actually not that bad, once you automate it well enough. Feel free to shoot me an email at lukas@fittl.com - happy to share notes and code.

We've evaluated it for our cloud database service, but ended up going back to ext4 due to memory management bugs. In particular this one: https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/issues/3645

Looks like you missed the window where Peter was answering questions, and I'm not a lawyer (so please talk to one!), but: I think you could look into doing an EB1 green-card in the extraordinary ability category - the requirements are

Do you mean timeseries data as in IoT/sensor data/etc, DevOps monitoring metrics (i.e. server load, app performance, etc), or something else? Curious since I'm currently researching how PostgreSQL could do better in this spac

Copying from https://github.com/citusdata/cstore_fdw#usage To load or append data into a cstore table, you have two options: You can use the COPY command to load or append data from a file, a program, or STDIN

Fair point - I assume this will be merged together in some way (i.e. the Citus stuff building on top of the parallel scan infrastructure), but probably a better question to ask on #citus IRC / open a Github issue. Some Postgres committ

AFAIK all the parallel work done in 9.6 refers to parallel operations on a single node (but multiple cores). This would be complimentary to what Citus does, which is distributing the load across multiple shard instances (each with their own

To answer this more explicitly than the other comment: Yes, CoreOS is intended as the host system for containers. Inside the Docker (or rkt) containers you can run whichever distribution or static binary you like. The combination of CoreOS+

I'd love for d3 to have great integration with React - whats your suggested approach? https://github.com/FormidableLabs/victory seems most promising, but isn't really d3, more "d3-like".

What are your experiences with going from a successfully issued O-1 visa to an EB-1A? Any lessons learned / things one should watch out for? (specifically around required evidence or RFEs that you got issued) Thanks for your time! :)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! Appreciate the work on performance, its essential and the main motivator to use Influx instead of Postgres. I'll certainly revisit Influx once tsm1 is the default and backups are in :) Re 0.8: As the ot

The Influx team is doing great things - however from the perspective of someone who's tried using InfluxDB in the last few months for a production app: I really, really wish they'd hire 2-3 more database engineers to focus on the

Yeah, agreed. Its all relative, thats why I used "affordable" instead of "cheap". In my head I compare Vienna with London and the US (SF/NYC/etc) which are 2-3x as expensive, plus healthcare is worse.

Personal Preference: Vienna, Austria I'm from there, but part of the reason why I keep coming back is cause its affordable to rent, even in the hip districts (600-700 EUR for 1br) + a great city to live + good bunch of startups + cheap
