This could change if power users were willing to pay for software. There are enough of us out there to create a market to build us tools.

Hey fellow open-source enthusiasts, We built Korvus, an open-source RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipeline that consolidates the entire RAG workflow - from embedding generation to text generation - into a single SQL query, significan

Setting up and running IRC requires some time and knowledge most companies don't want to invest in. It's much easier to buy than to build, especially when it's not your core competency. Slack, etc. pricing is a rounding error

I'd say hacking isn't the same as building new production quality features. Just for fun or for educational purposes, I'd want to change something about the database, and it won't be easy because internals aren't th

Pretty cool. A little slow for a search engine, have you tried in-database embeddings for semantic search like PostgresML?

You'd have to try very hard to override a type in Rust when that type comes directly from your database (see SQLx). Rust unsafe features don't allow you to override type safety, but you can directly manipulate raw pointers if you&

In the case of running Postgres on K8s, the problem arises immediately when you try to resize a data volume and you can't because the API doesn't support it. K8s is not really for stateful systems, yet, and systems like Postgres t
