Can't wait to have a version of PyPy that supports numpy! Since the benefits have been proven, I can't help but wonder why there aren't more people working on this...

I see it differently. I sit alone all day, working on my projects by myself. Come dinner time, it is a welcome change to get to chat a little with my coworkers. Ultimately, I'd say it depends a lot on who your coworkers are. If you enjoy

Probably they just wanted to make sure they stayed ahead of Bing on all levels. Like Apple is doing right now with the iPad.

This looks interesting. Some of those features seem to come directly from google wave.

I have seen the event description, my question still stands. Why not just remove the RSVP panel and still display the information?

You must log in to see this page. Why? Is this not a public event?

I read on reddit that they are working on it. They will actually do a code rush to release a Python 3 enabled version next weekend ( http://www.ctpug.org.za/wiki/Meeting20110305 ).

This is awesome. scipy and numpy are my main dependencies, they were pretty much the only reason I was not moving to Python 3 yet.

I have been experiencing wierd crashes with some HTML 5 games where the whole browser crashes. It's funny because they are supposed to be standalone processes.

I was a bit deceived to see that the display quality is lacking in comparison to the iPad, which is already 1 year old. I am going to hold my breath and look for reviews of the 10 inch Galaxy tab, hoping they will bring in a better display.

When I click on 'continue reading...' it doesn't do anything. Is there supposed to be more to the article? The last sentence I got was : If you’re a teacher, go where the students care about what they’re learning.

I wonder which of the Xoom and the 10" Galaxy tab will come out the strongest. I'll be getting one of those two for sure. The Notion Ink is out for me.

For my part, I know that I love it when I see English Canadians trying to speak French - I do my best to help them practice. I could be pissed at someone who's lived in Quebec for a loong time (5 years +) and who still doesn't speak French,

I guess I could recommend to you 'Introduction to Machine Learning' by Ethem Alpaydin : http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?tid=10341&#... I find it is less brutal than Bishop's book, providing insightful analogies. It won't

Genetic Algorithms are rarely covered in (recent) Machine Learning books. They are more often considered as optimization algorithms.

Nintendo, along with their imminent release of the 3ds, has issued warning to not let kids use their product too often because it could interfere with the development of their brains. So yes, you probably can get used to this sort of imager

To be completely cross-compatible with MATLAB, Octave would need to support classes. This makes it incompatible with class-using MATLAB libraries like PRTOOLS. Otherwise I'd just stick to scipy, there are so much more python libraries out t

Maybe he's one of those persons that, you know, are just happy to be happy . Their happiness might be thought of as the result of this pseudo code : happiness = abs(happiness) while (!implode) happiness = happiness * 1.

I agree with the argument that PhD's might be underpaid a bit, but I think the author is exaggerating when he says that universities exploit them to get cheap research done, or that there are too many PhD's being produced by the system in g

Yeah, and now we argue about whether or not knowing the basic mechanics of your typical language (be it programming or music) can help you achieve a greater global understanding and thus allow you to be a better musician/programmer overall.
