why don't you try online meetups ? join teams on meetup.com or couchsurfing. find activities like tea gathering or sports. Also, what about friends of friends and colleagues at work, you can start there as well.

wow that is cool. last time I tried it I had a hard time struggling with HAProxy and trying to fix the sticky session thing. Would be great to see some benchmark of how this can scale especially with the new redis integration.

a bit offtopic: I suppose cloudflare's "always online" mode wont work unless the origin server sends a cache headers that lasts for long ?

Follow your access log and find out how those files got written/requested. in order to solve the problem you need to identify it first. you probably need to check your permissions as well, prevent apache process from writing to your we

I would probably move back from Digital Ocean if they allow a 10$/mo plan. I know that's not a big price difference, but some website really don't need a lot of resources. they work well on D.O's 5$ server, and I have re

I played with twitter bots before, and I tried different ways to maximize the exposure of my "automated" tweets, sometimes by parsing dictionary words, other times by targeting trending hashtags, but that didn't seem to gener

They missed one important point though, hidden network of websites needs to run on servers, and servers cost money. more traffic means scaling and even higher costs.

I created a news aggregator completely based on a python scrapper. I run scrapping jobs as periodic celery tasks. usually I would look into the RSS feeds (to start) and parse them with "Feed Parser" module. Then I would use "

The last time I read a news title like this (where they use words like Flight Vanishes) was in 2009 about the Air France Flight 447 from Brazil to France. I still find this story extremely puzzling for many reasons: 1-Boeing 777 is one of t

I think it is a good step forward, while iOS might not be the greatest OS, I think it is pretty good and stable. Having Apple screens/iOS inside the car is definitely better than those existing screens that look really primitive.
