Never mind that this example parses and compiles the wasm code at runtime, so it's probably not faster at all to takes chunks of JS and port it to wasm if you're going to run it this way.

But low level languages usually are more verbose. High level languages can afford to be more terse. The WASM code looks very similar to actual x86 assembly to me, and with a name like 'web assembly', that seems right.

Wow a "cure". Wouldn't that be nice. It's equally likely it could be used to develop a super expensive treatment of questionable effectiveness.

Great blog post. It's been wonderful to see rust take off in the space and the approaches the folks in the embedded wg and ecosystem have come up with. The cortex-m starter projects, embedded-hal tying the ecosystem together, and vario

It's not realistic to expect to go to school for 4 or 5 years and then work for the next 30 without learning anything new. Or rather, not if you care about advancing and making more money. Maybe I'm lucky that I actually enjoy it,

It's not just unwrap, it's anything that ends up using format!. It gets used in production all the time, not to mention cases where you know an Option is a Some-variant so unwrap'ing is safe.

Cool, thanks for this. Rust/Swift's variant is arguably a little different (because it works with a sum type) but I think the influence is pretty clear here.

Rust has a lot of core team members that no longer work at Mozilla, so this isn't really true today. Also, C and C++ are some of the most widely used languages in the world. I wouldn't call them niche. Edit: according to the TIOBE

If you have a keyboard flashable with QMK you can make a key activate a layer that has a numpad on it. If you really like customizability and a split layout, a keyboard flashed with QMK is going to serve you much better, IMO.
