Interesting. Binance has been putting a lot of focus on building a platform, with their Labs and Binance Coin. Hopefully those haven't become distractions away from their core offering as an exchange.

No, Binance has been the leading BTC exchange in China for quite a while! Maybe you heard of them because of their Binance Coin announcement. It went pretty far, pretty fast in terms of volume.

What's the point of creating an ecosystem if you won't support it? Typical Google. I understand shutting down or refocusing services that don't work. But decisions like this or to shut down Inbox make no sense to me. It feels

Definitely the most creative code I'll be seeing this week! I realize this is really bad practice and likely to be fixed since it can be used for tracking users, but: are there any advantages to using CSS over Javascript, in theory?

This is neat! I wish there was a simple way to use this tech. Is there any company providing SDKs to generate such characters, make models that are usable for videos, anything like that? All I've heard is people using it for deep fakes

I'm really confused by the fact that both IE and Edge exist. It seems so contrary to the move towards convergence (having Xbox on Windows, Linux kernel on Windows, Windows on ARM...). Why the need for two brands?

Wonder what this will mean. Is the ability to run Linux commands and programs going to be there just so people who like Terminal can do their job without VMs? Is this a deeper move towards making apps more universal? That would remind me of

Well, so much for the argument that having a player that can put pressure on Steam will help make things more flexible for developers. Such a shame.

I was thinking about the "preview Windows key shortcuts" just yesterday! So glad to see it's getting made. I'm been a Windows power user since 3.1, and I just discovered this week that the programs on my task bar could b

Really interesting. I've been using Gatsby for web development, and the only part that feels really outdated in my tool stack is I'm still using cmd.exe. I suppose combining this and VS Code and the new version of React Native wil

Is their position that defensible? I understand they have a lot of real estate and that offices aren't going away. But you'd imagine that startups that want to be scrappy don't want to pocket the costs for a semi-fancy space.

Funnily enough, I remember the gaming press being cautiously optimistic about the Pippin. It was touted as a multimedia console hybrid. Back then, something being Multimedia was a big marketing buzzword (think a bit like cloud or blockchain

Seconded. I used LastPass for probably 5 years, and moved to Bitwarden a few months ago. No regrets. It was a breeze to setup the Docker image, migrate my data, and the TOTP support works even better. It'd take a lot for me to consider

Good luck making the unit economics work. I can't imagine that people would respond well to a price hike in general, but in a market this saturated, any competitor will be happy to undercut them. The key here is that they're runni

I'm just a casual Linux user, but I'm wondering: is there a demand for this? I've been using Linux Mint and it already comes with a pseudo store. Everything else that I've been installing was one apt-get command away. Is

How does Mastodon handle governance for content that gets reported? It sounds like a logistics nightmare. It's nice that the apps are getting a way to blur things, but I would imagine that the bigger problem would be bad actors running

It unclear if this article is supposed to be a summary of what the Agile Manifesto is, or a current day critique of it. If the former, not sure what value is created since it's so common knowledge. If the latter, would have loved some

We haven't even been able to define the meaning of what a soul is, measure it, find it, or anything. On top of that, we don't speak elephant, and our tools to assess whether they have souls don't exist (since we can't ev
