There is some work with zero shot (decoder only) time series predictions by google and an open source variant. Curious to see how these approaches stack up as they are explored.

In practice that is a major bummer. You can’t distinguish between a new subscriber and a re activated subscriber.

ChatGTP as a tool is so novel and magical that everyone will sign up and try it. Some of those people will shake out and follow a normal hype cycle.

This type of website is where I spent the late 90’s. Tesla coils and quarter crusher instructions. This is a great website!

I have found just using it in the web interface comperable to OpenAI. But the context window makes a huge difference. I can dump alot more files in ( entire schema, sample records etc)

Pricing is crazy. team plan with 2 million actions ($300 is already expensive for this) + $29k? This is not realistic in any way.

Are you going off an interpretation of their agreements or the public comments of Elon Musk?

The emerald mine + hand wavy dismissal of his achievements is pretty wishful thinking. You can be totally repulsed by his behavior and trolling. But he has taken a few giant swings and hit them out of the park.

caching + simpler models for classification / triage should reduce the load on the big model.

this is a temporary state. Open source alternatives are already available and more are being trained.

I think chatgtp itself with access to search / wolfram / apps etc is a more serious competitor than Bing.

They really have a flywheel of internet destruction. The fact that they own the entire display advertising business + search and ping pong people from a 50% paid search listing to a CPM arbitrage SEO website and back is just gross.

Maybe scrape the top 100k websites and track changes / re-evaluate legal pages.

Not sure why the outside view is so wise? Predicting the future in complex systems is hard, regardless of your prediction.

Watch the late night shows making fun of (the internet) in the 90’s. This is just the next round of that in my opinion.

Remove links to content that could be characterized as "SEO spam. Google has spent billions of dollars on this right? No way you could detect that a page with 27 (google) ads that takes 12 minutes to scroll is not useful content.

I have been using this XState alternative https://github.com/StoneCypher/jssm I find the DSL much easier to wrap my head around than the json format of Xstate.

this seems the most rational. BTC is up 15% in the last 5 days. Who knows how much effect his publicity stunt is having on the price but assuming he has a large percentage of his liquid assets in bitcoin. The pump may end up making him more

My company has gone years wanting our product catalog to have structured data around our products but not going through the tedium of extracting it all. about an hour of prompt tweaking and it can pull, normalize, summarize and output valid

Probably better to use an off the shelf recommender or Amazon personalize. Amazon personalize will turn your product text data into embeddings and use that + collaborative filtering to generate various types of recommendations.

It’s the innovators dillema. Google is selling the answers to questions for millions of dollars per day. If their bot answers with ads, people will use another bot.

"Will never be" is an overly confident statement for any technical field. Predicting the future is hard and predicting the future with an un-bounded time horizon is pretty near impossible.

Yeah, they are responsible for those 5 minute scroll sessions above the recipes. They rank and monetize those horrible sites.
