They might walk 10 minutes from home to the train station platform, 10 minutes from the station to their office, and 10 minutes to lunch. Then reverse all of that for an hour total. Sometimes it’s a 15 minute walk, so that would make up for

I will let you work out for yourself why that sounds condescending.

For a lot of vegans, the question isn’t so much what diet is best to thrive on (it’s clear that humans can thrive on a lot of diets), but rather, “What diet is most compassionate.”

Can you say more about the steelmanned buddhism questions? I'm interested but not clear on what you're pointing to with the term "steelmanned buddhism" or what important ways you think it might be wrong about. Edit: Just

I think this is a great project for a 15-year-old. My own son did something like this recently, and loved it. Let's encourage that.

It's very rarely used to convey the literal act. The link you posted is an exception, and is noteworthy exactly because of that. When the word is used, it's almost always meant to convey the feeling.

But the study also measured cardiovascular fitness via treadmill and didn't find the same correlation.

I also really dislike their model of making you sign in to see more than one answer. Annoying your potential users is a bad policy.

I didn't say Americans are superior at being vegetarian. I said they're a much larger group with a longer culture of being aware of issues like B12, etc. That's factual.

There's also a large body of research that contradict the findings of this study, just fyi. Just one example (there are many more): http://www.nih.gov/researchmatters/june2013/06102013vegetari...

Only 0.2% of the interviewees were actually vegetarian. It would be hard to generalize based on such a small group.

Yeah, I'm talking about things like Genius playlists, or Google Now, where the computer's algorithms can figure out what you need without you needing to organize.

It's interesting that when we think "post-touch" we still think about files and folders ("move the folder where I'm looking"). Maybe we won't need to think about organization -- the computer can handle that, and just play the songs we want,

Yes, you have my blessing to do this. In fact, numerous people have sold my blog posts in the form of ebooks on Amazon, with my name on it, without giving me any profits. They've also scraped my site and put ads on it. It's hard for me to b

Yep! And people have done this. I am not bothered by copying, but rather hope that some of the copying will go to building something better than just a copy. After all, nothing I've written is original, but built on the ideas of others.

Believe it or not, I have a thriving business where all the products (books and courses) are uncopyrighted. People will still pay for uncopyrighted works. I'm only one of many examples.

I charge for pretty much all my products, including books and courses (except the blog, which is free). They are all uncopyrighted. Somehow, I still make a living.
