Huh - that seems a very basic missing feature in the cloud version. We use bog-standard self-hosted JIRA and markdown editing is basic working functionality. People also add mermaid diagrams/charts to the issue. As well as custom diagr

I wish the author had compared Flutter to the Web. Would have been nice to know his opinion on the flutter rendering model. Is it the state of art design in UI rendering ?

They should write a book on "Design and Implementation of SQLite". And make a course as well. That would interest a lot of people and ensure future generations pick up where they decided to retire.

Jira may be over-engineered, but I don't think it lacks anything. You can always get a plugin if something is missing. Our corpo Jira crawled because of a stupendous amount of plugins (close to a thousand). Once we had a Jira clean-up

Calling it an over-engineered mess when it solves a complex problem through well-defined specification and semantics is very poor posturing. The WASM specs are actually FAR easier to read and grok than most of the legacy WebAPI's! Many

There is the Web Assembly Component Model. Nothing is really preventing browser vendors from exposing a WASM host interface to DOM, exposing it as a Component Model interface. This would allow DOM functions to be invoked from WASM without h

Actually DOM implementations are all in C++ and DOM interfaces are described in WebIDL. So direct DOM access from WASM is indeed possible if browser vendors chose to open the same. Access via a JS shim is just utterly destroying performance

The Macbook trackpad beats the Thinkpad trackpad hands down. The Thinkpad trackpad is extremely liquid/oil sensitive. Wipe your hands through your hair, put your fingers on the trackpad and it stops working. Very frustrating.

> It's complicated, yes, but simplifying somewhat the "US" does not subsidize pharma startups. This is utterly false. Agencies like NIH, BARDA, and NSF fund early-stage biomedical R&D by providing SBIR/STTR grants
