Vox has a UI reminiscent of a Windows XP skin and gobs of macOS oddities. I feel like they're still trying to catch up to macOS UI changes from 5 years ago. Don't get me started on how inaccessible the entire interface is... They

Editing a comment so substantially that your thesis changes makes you look deeply disingenuous.

You rewrote your comment not to come across better but to make a different point. Your point was that this wasn’t an ad. Your point now is that you personally feel “ad” doesn’t typically mean first party ads. The former is wrong, the latter

If you go into a Hyundai dealer and see a big banner about their new financing plan, isn’t that an ad? If the Nike catalog includes a full page promo for nike.com, isn’t that an ad?

Ah, you're right. Hooray. CA's net neutrality law was challenged in court and found to be lawful due to Mozilla Corp. v. FCC , and I knew that case hinged upon Brand X . At the time, Ajit Pai was trying to prevent states from

Automatic content recognition is one of the freakiest kinds of tracking I've heard of. Smart TVs become data collection hubs for the home if they get connected to the internet. Some have microphones for voice recognition. If you go int

I just don’t think the internet has mustered awareness yet. This decision effectively killed net neutrality and dooms everything that rests on Brand X in one swoop (eg California’s own net neutrality laws).

I try out the new apps each year and always go back to Terminal.app. My one gripe with it was that Opt-Del didn't delete words, which I learned last year can be fixed by Preferences > Profiles > Keyboard > Use Option as Meta k
