Taxes are low for businesses in Germany if you take the numerous possibilities to deduct things from your taxes into account (effectively lower than in the US). It's just taxes and levies for workers that are high. Tech workers cost wa

You’re also contributing to global warming with mining and contribute to a scheme that allows criminals to transfer money. If your local hospital has to shut down because of ransomware you are making that possible.

Not necessarily. Your security model should be that any computer on your network could be infected. It’s very likely to happen and if there’s any flaw that allows infection it’s not your whole network that gets compromised.

Trustless trust doesn’t solve any problems here. Having your ownership of games notarized without someone central, does not mean you can access them. You need someone to enforce that.

The amount spent does not say anything about efficiency if you don't consider what is provided with that money. Lack of free healthcare and education are some of the biggest complaints about the US after all. Europe is also doing prett

No I don’t, but it’s not unlikely that omicrons risks for the individual could be similar to previous strains. Then there’s also high transmissibility. When following the precautionary principle we shouldn’t act expecting the best but the w

I’m not sure if Reddit is so much worse. With Reddit you see toxic groups out in the open, with Facebook those groups are hidden and only Facebook knows the true size and content of all toxic groups.

The reason why people use ORM mappers with their migration functionality is that you get rid of a lot of repetitive stuff and get an okay result for 95%. I have the feeling, if you don’t have a lot of different tables and migrations, writin

Of course we should be optimistic that omicron and variants that will follow will be less severe. But that hope should not be treated as a fact like the headline does. Another hope could be that omicron is actually not as virulent as delta,

Maybe a US union thing. The reason why US unions (and also other workers) are so protectionist is that there are high risks connected with job loss. If you provide a good security net as a country, where people don't loose everything w
