That's that public-face failure bit I pointed out in my post. My own Derby app https://habitrpg.com is smooth-sailing, but people's first impression Derby's home-page examples. For a lot of people, the buck stops there - unbeknownst to th

It's not like that. I'm saying use Angular, Ember, Knockout, whatever - just not Backbone. Unless you know Backbone is what's needed for your project, or you yourself really love Backbone. What I'm discouraging here is its popularity as t

I think it often is a simple comparison. Meteor & Derby, for example, are the exact same use-case - and I think in the end, one will survive the battle and the other lose steam. People say Backbone & Angular are different use-case

!! Those REST packes enable server-side routes? I remember the last time I checked, when Meteor had it's new "server pages" it was Phantom generated snapshots of client renders, which blew my mind. I'll explore those packages, that was my

KaoruAoiShiho, I'm really liking the look of this Firebase. Are you yourself set on Angular as the client? I feel inclined towards your opinions: a man who comes from Drupal, uses Meteor, with an eye on Angular, obviously knows what he's ta

Good to know! Ok, one vote for custom store - I'll make sure to get a better feel then before making any rash decisions.

Yeah - I had a previous post that was successful on HackerNews. Brought the site down, so I took it offline, enabled aggressive & static caching (was previously normal caching), as well as Boost. Imported database to prod, restarted -

Very similar. It's a really cool app, too - had I known about it before, I wouldn't have developed C'est la vie. Pros/Cons: * Epic is only iPhone, Habit is Web & responsive, so will work on all devices. I'm working on a PhoneGap app too
