yes and no. I do suspect that limits are often adjusted for reasons that have more to do with revenue than safety. but at the same time, the designed speed of a road isn't always appropriate for the surroundings. 55 could be an reason

yes, there are limits to how much heat can be removed by a dual-slot blower without making it extremely loud. open coolers can do a bit better, with the trade-off that they dump most of the heat inside your chassis rather than out the back.

imo people get a bit too worked up over the peak power draw of parts that are going to be fully loaded only a couple hours per day. the bigger issue is where all that additional heat is going and how. I'll be paying close attention to

it's a weird market segment. the inside of a computer is not a great place to put a DAC, due to the EMI from all the other components. an audio enthusiast is going to strongly prefer running optical or USB to an external DAC/amp.

I doubt a modern engine has ever failed due to a single instance of lugging. they are pretty robust. but it does put unnecessary stress on the engine. it's similar to cruising on the highway in a low gear. the engine is designed not to

I really don't see how it makes much difference from the employee's perspective. you get paid x to do y over the course of a year. as long as x is reasonable compensation for y, why would you care exactly how it's calculated?
