OK so Waymo is going to buy and retrofit and provide 500k cars?

Yeah except Snap didn't have nearly the revenue stream that Lyft does. I'm still not sure what Snap's main source of revenue is, but Lyft clearly has tons of revenue pouring in and you'd think they'd be able to dial

There are 1.4 million Lyft drivers in US and Toronto. Waymo is going to buy and retrofit and provide 1.4 million cars?

AFAIK all the big companies working on this problem include high-definition mapping as a major component. The problem is gathering that data without having an actual LiDAR. So some companies like Waymo will literally just have cars with LiD

How does anyone? I have plenty of coworkers who eat fast food for every lunch and not much better or more diverse for dinner. Certainly they are not getting all the different micronutrients?

Well they also have billions of miles of data from people who have actually drove their car hands free, feet free. No one even has close to this data.

Having LiDAR in any car for self driving seems like a prohibitively expensive idea though. For instance: See how no company has released a commercial product with LiDAR. And I definitely think Computer Vision will get better before LiDAR ge

In my mind, these big players need to sort out the fields where they're lacking years ago. I can think of about 4 off the top of my head. 1: Batteries and battery tech ( the supply field is limited and Tesla has the biggest leverage he

Totally agree he's not the only person doing great work at his companies. Also really weird to me when people are confident he's not the genius one man band he appears to be, and then immediately point the credit towards another S

They are working on it! Elon says it's the product he's most excited about, but it's going to be Model Y -> Semi -> Pickup as priority.

It's not an insane idea, but it's also totally unfounded to assume that people who buy art are primarily "lonely" with "low self-esteem".

The amount Elon has delivered so far this year alone at Tesla and SpaceX is tremendous then you see a headline where he landed a 50+ million tunneling deal on the side because why not. Staggering.

Seems like a good time to mention Waymo has a valuation of 75 billion dollars and has yet to make any revenue. Maybe they will start to bring in some money!

Also worth mentioning is that 200k is much less when considering you'd be able to sell your house/car/everything to do so.

I completely disagree they are decades away. I'd be shocked if there weren't completely autonomous vehicles operating anywhere in U.S.A in 5 years. No idea why you think trucks are further either.

YMMV. My bootcamp had 90% placement rate within 90 days and has for years. This question kind of ridiculous though, no education system works for every single participant. There are plenty of people with B.A.'s not getting hired. Even
