As a Next.js user, this is a big release! I'm constantly impressed with how many new features and improvements get rolled out. The only thing that's (slightly) concerning to me is the rate of change. It's a double-edged sword

Excellent review. Just wanted to say thanks. ZEIT's attention to developer experience has transformed the way I (and many others) create web applications. Just a few years ago, I would have opted to use vanilla React with GitHub Pages.

Personally, I would use Next.js. It allows you have dynamic pages (e.g. your app) alongside static pages (e.g. landing page). Since it's server-side rendered, it's great for SEO. You mentioned you don't want to do SPA+SSR. Wi

Dan didn't write the entire API himself. I'm sure the whole React core team contributed in some fashion and it went through various code reviews. No need to bash.

I don't think Yang is claiming the _only_ thing causing job loss is automation. It's just one major factor, which will continue to rise into the future. I also don't think he believes it will put everyone in those industries

Conventional commits pair nicely with a Lerna monorepo when deploying multiple JS packages at once. Auto-generated changelogs and automatic semver for packages. It's worked well for us over the past year. https://github.com&

It's not about how fast they can pick it up. It's about whether they want to or not. And most devs doing JavaScript work want to stay in JS land. Similarly, good luck finding help with Dart issues versus the JavaScript ecosystem.

Some interesting pieces in this article, but also a lot of cringe. It also seemed to be 3x longer than necessary.
