well, there are many different approaches right now. I really gotta say, some of the stuff they came up with are ingenious. I'll try to introduce others if there is enough interest here =D.

This is mainly a neural network library, it has svm support mainly for comparison. It still can't replace weka... which you can kinda use with python http://weka.wikispaces.com/Can+I+use+WEKA+from+Python%3F

You can't focus your eyes when the display is so close, an "E" on the lens will look like a blur. So to get good resolution, you'll probably need a more focused light source, and you'll need voxels instead of pixels.

I'm curious... apps on facebook make money, right? slide, playfish, zygna, etc. So what happens if an app maker hits jackpot, while facebook itself can't find a good revenue stream? Is facebook going to start a facebook tax?

I like the idea, but I'm not sure people will necessarily know what they want to read about. Take, for example, a disaster, people would want to know about it as soon as possible. You don't want to wait until someone votes on the topic befo

wow, this is seriously a bunch of bull. It doesn't say anything interesting about the problem at all, and just claims a bunch of speculation and improbable comparisions. Like, "punishing a robot" ...? No AI scheme I've seen ever has a sense

I dunno, there are some nifty things that you can't turn into companies. Sure there are things that some people thought was too small but turned out to be significant, yet for each one of those, there are 1000 other startups that thought th

I think the example of the moon kinda sucks, I agree. but it doesn't mean that this is totally irrelevant. To measure the speed of a wave, you find the length between peaks, the wavelength, and then the time it takes to go from peak to peak
