Yes Microsoft DHTML and behaviors were this and represented tremendous lock-in. Plus, they were terrible. Those who don’t know their history are truly doomed to repeat it.

I always had trouble running bedrock as a household server. Specifically it would stop accepting connections and required daily restarts. Java was much more reliable.

It was a great machine. It was my daily driver until a few years ago. I ran xubuntu on it with the Mr Chromebook firmware for a loooong time until my most commonly used websites became so heavy browsing was impossible.

Stargate command is the enterprise analog, and the wormhole is the transporter. Same show.

“AI Doomer” is ambiguous here! Do you mean someone who optimistic about ai will never amount to anything, or that ai won’t be the end of humanity?

You should try the stargate series next if you haven’t. They supplanted Star Trek in my pantheon. There are also some time travel series more recently that are also quite enjoyable; Travelers and Continuum.

> Any honest evaluation of AI comes to the result that it's nowhere near capable, routinely misses the mark, and probably takes more time to verify its answer than it does to use. Before the era of code reviews as best practice I wa

That’s been a trope long before AI. QA coverage has always been cyclical in my experience. In good times there is hiring and QA. Lean times QA is the first to go.

I agree and to address this I’ve tried using them to understand large code bases, I haven’t worked out how to prompt this effectively yet. Has anyone gone this route?

Damage to civilians planes is certainly possible, but more likely imo is inflicting physical injury and blindness. Those lasers are no joke.

I vibe coded a retro emulator and assembler with tests. Prompts were minimal and I got really great results (Gemini 3). I tried vibe coding the tricky proprietary part of an app I worked on a few years ago; highly technical domain (yes vagu

The irony is it’s really easy and cheap to get a type 7 ffl, basically a background check and $150. Legally manufacture and sell all the guns you want. The reality is no one would buy your 3d printed junk anyway.

It’s not nearly that hard of a problem. There are n gun files on internet, so validate the hash of those n files (g code whatever). These people aren’t cadding their own designs.

I think it’s more accurate to say that US corporations are subject to US law. Indeed there are no laws that say anything about corporations prioritizing the party in power, but they often do as matter course.

I think there are more succinct snippets in here and some this more verbose exposition is for pedagogical purposes. I am not a fan of ocaml because tacking on the object syntax made SML more verbose (ugly imo). Looks like 0xcaml continued t
