My own plan: shield them until they are old enough to understand the concepts of trust and respect.. then pull back the safety net, but maintain quiet vigilance (like montoring (read only) the dns queries or system logs, and maybe keep acce

Probably lost in all the replies but use can use AWS SAM start-local[1] to run a lambda locally. There's also a docker container to mock dynamodb locally. When I'm just working logic... Unit tests are best, but you could also keep

Seems to be the trend in america... Tax breaks and subsidies for big corporations, with no consideration for what the impact will be in 10-30 years... Until we, as a nation, can get past this pattern we will never improve our climate/w

I would agree.... modern unions are almost a joke (rug color doesn't match what we agreed on, so back to negotiations!)... or police unions, where officers with significantly questionable backgrounds are re-hired... But against amazon,

From the letter AWS sent, a better analogy would be: Craft store noticed their brand logo was on a poster board with messages calling for rape and execution of named individuals (a clearly illegal act). Craft store said in their sale recipt

GPS in cities can be hit and miss. Also means more expensive/new devices. Lat/long would give you a good idea of the 3-9 most likely roads involved, but it won't necessarily prove which road exactly... so humans would still n

I love AWS, but they've been struggling lately (probably understandable with increased unexpected load this year?). Not going into details to keep on topic, but every time it's green status. Rarely any acknowledgement of problems

I used to love Ansible/TF control of Infrastructure., But honestly, after 2 years of Ansible, we considered switching to TF, but ended up with SAM (an AWS deploy tool on top of cloud formation) The only benefit I saw with Ansible/

EC2, last I checked, does not allow tag conditionals at instance creation. You can have tag controls afterwards, but the instance creation call does not support tagging (the GUI masks this)

That is access control when tags exist... You can't, for example, deny an EC2 instance creation of it is NOT tagged with Key X. The recommendation is to watch cloud trail and post-creation, terminate it. Creation events for EC2 do. It
