The only good idea he had was to fellate pg’s ego and write Reddit in lisp, which is all of talked about in those days. Seems to have a need to be proven that he was a right clever boy.

It’s fine, if you don’t take it as dogma, understand that Rippetoe isn’t a particularly great coach or lifter, and it should only be run 6 to 12 weeks - maximum. I think most folks would be better off doing 5/3/1 with cardio and&#

Agreed. I definitely came off a bit cynical. We just have an abundance of exceptional performance spaces in Philly and the nearby suburbs. Hopefully, this is a benefit to Lansdowne.

Living in Philly, I can pretty confidently say there’s a 0% chance a theater in Lansdowne, even a nicely restored, historical, theater, will attract 100000 visitors in a year.

Maybe. I don’t think technology in music is a bad thing. I enjoy pushing limits and non-transitional elements. I love music that upends expectations and may even be grating to listen to for most people. I enjoy music made with synths, plugi

This is something I learned being in bands. Fame and fortune weren’t in the story, but because we made the music we wanted to hear, I have an album and 3 EPs worth of music that I can listen to and enjoy, over a decade later.

My take is the opposite. It’s a nightmare of noise, where everyone is forced to be louder than everyone else. Anyone trying to read or do homework is forced to flee to the edges of the house to find an escape.

Except libraries pay for their books, and those books cannot be copied and distributed in an unlimited manner. Artist deserve to be compensated for their work.

My favorite musical partnerships have a balance of a starter and (me) a finisher. I really struggle with producing raw material, but am good at revising, reworking, and cutting out fluff and my best writing partners are great at spewing out

My great-grandmother lost two (teenage) brothers in Pennsylvania mining accidents in the early 1900's. The coal companies were more than happy to grind through the expendable, cheap, often immigrant, population of the region.

I love Terry Pratchett, but many of the TV adaptations have been a big miss. Though Good Omens was really well done, I thought.

I mostly work with Powershell, but dabble in C#. Both omnisharp and the Powershell CoC plugins for Neovim seemed to break often. I've switched to VS Code for Powershell and Visual Studio for C#, as sad as that makes me.

Yeah same. I'll probably spend a some more time with Emacs, having fun toying around with it, and then realize all I really want is a fast, snappy editor. Then I'll be back to nvim. Wash-rinse-repeat every couple of years.

Did you customize Emacs much? Or add functionality, rather than just customize? I'm a long time vim/nvim user and as much as Lua brought to the party, I'm finding I want to add functionality, and that feels more appealing in

Yeah. They've repeatedly bungled Azure/O365 related Powershell modules. Some modules offering partially overlapping functionality, which are then deprecated in favor of MSGraph. The Powershell MSGraph API is not a 1:1 replacement

I don't believe it's a full rewrite. From Neovim's Vision statement: "Neovim is a refactor, and sometimes redactor, in the tradition of Vim (which itself derives from Stevie). It is not a rewrite but a continuation and e
