That's just a non sequitur. Compare the scale of datacenter construction in the past decades vs the pace post 2022. Also the general computing datacenters of the past are vastly different in societal utility vs the GPU only AI datacent

Because a large portion of people are in this industry for the high salaries only, and always disliked the actual job of programming. Those people welcome LLM coding with open arms.

Agree with the dread, but the point is often just making money so one can survive. While the jobs might be meaningless in an ontological sense, the surplus value is very real. All the billionaire yachts are there to prove it
